A pretty good webpage.

WordPress comments feed returns "404 Page not found"

I’ve had an issue with WordPress 2.7.1 returning a 404 Page not found error for the comments feed (/comments/feed/).  Much web searching has yielded no solutions.  The only thing I could think of was that due to the (low) traffic of this site it doesn’t have any comments.  Sure enough, as soon as I added 1 comment the comment feed started to work.  Clearly, this is a bug.  In the meantime, there’ll be a comment on this post so that Google doesn’t think there are links to 404s on this site.

  3. Hi,

I had the same problem as you. I was happy to stumble upon your website. I just did a google search on “comment feed showing page not found” and your site came up. Your solution was a perfect fix for this problem. Now, I no longer have the error message coming up. Thanks and have a nice day.

  4. Thanks same issue for a site of ours and no solutions seem to be on the net. We have many pages but only one blog post and no comments as yet. I will try your solution.

  5. I did a link check on of my SEO clients websites and also came across the 404 for /comments/feed/ .. After some time i have found a solution, which was posted here: http://www.blogofchris.com/remove-comments-rss-feed-wordpress/

Hope this is useful for others too, but it is possible that in future versions of WP the code may be found in other source files..
